I am writing this at the end of about one month in Australia and New Zealand as a resume of the experiences I made during this brief time here. First of all New Zealand rocks, the weather at least in the summer here is totally bearable and the endless rainy days that everyone has told me about did not really materialise. Also the people in NZ seem more educated and friendlier than their Oz neighbours, and my very superficial impression is that their cultural and societal values show a strong national pride and tie but also significantly stronger European and especially English influences, than on the other side of the Tasman See. Australia, especially Sydney where I spent most of my time is fantastic, yet a rather pricey option, with a wealth of cultural, sports and leisure activities on offer. The sheer size and variety of places to go and see is almost intimidating, whereas Auckland is more manageable.
If I return to here, which I think may be quite likely, my first stop will be on Kiwi soil and if there is time on the way back I would like to check out Melbourne and and the West Coast - all in all Kiwi is my personal favourite.
